Job Description : DAS UK Group, a market-leading insurance and legal services provider, has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Accounting Manager to join the Finance department. Based in central Bristol with great remote and flexible working options, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Technical Account Manager to join as a senior member of our team.Working in a dynamic environment, the successful candidate will play a key role in providing accurate, timely and insightful financial information to key stakeholders across DAS UK’s business. Furthermore, as a senior member of DAS’ Financial Accounting & Control Team (FA&C) this role will provide professional support in the delivery of the following;Ensuring the accuracy, timelines and completeness of the accounting ledgers for DAS UK Group companies, controls and processes;Implementation of changes required for compliance with IFRS17 for Group reporting;Implementation of any changes that may be required for compliance with local statutory reporting requirements;Supporting the team and the Head of FA&C in delivering business support, internal reporting and other ad hoc requests with insightful analysisAbout YouWe’d like to hear from candidates who can demonstrate an ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues from across the business and who would enjoy undertaking a variety of BAU, project and business support tasks, providing support and taking a ‘hands-on’ approach when needed.This role would suit a qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or equivalent) with appropriate PQE , excellent interpersonal and communication skills, accounting experience in the insurance industry and a demonstrable track record of technical accounting expertiseSkills/knowledge/experience: In-depth knowledge of insurance accounting IFRS4 and IFRS17 and applicable accounting standards (IAS / IFRS);Extensive insurance industry and insurance accounting knowledge;Ability to build good working relationships with colleagues from a variety of disciplines;Excellent verbal and written communication and presentational skills;Excellent systems interrogation and MS Excel skillsA background of embedding and reviewing financial controls; andA good understanding of both internal and external audit practices to facilitate efficient accounts and process reviews.Please note that whilst this is a full-time permanent position, we want to support our employees to achieve a work-life balance that works for them and are happy to discuss flexible working options.Job Type: Permanent
