The app is a file and user management platform used by hundreds of thousands of people. It enables companies and government agencies to maintain accreditation by having users view documents specific to them. Users are informed when new document revisions occur via push notifications and can be required to take tests and sign that they reviewed the document. There is a strong emphasis on administrative support as well with features like the management and creation of users and documents.
Written fully in Kotlin
Architected with MVVM
Uses Retrofit to connect with a RESTful API
Utilizes WorkManager/Room to download, cache, sync, and view files online/offline.
Strong emphasis on separation of concerns
Dependency injection via Kodein
Beginning to migrate views over to use Jetpack Compose
Working towards supporting offline caching
Requirements:
3-5+ years of experience in Android application development using Java and/or Kotlin
Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android & advanced concepts
Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
Experience with common architectural patterns, such as MVVM and MVP
Deep understanding of the view and application life cycles.
Experience with dependency injection
Experience with mobile analytics
Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
Experience in code versioning tools including Git or AWS CodeCommit.
Deliver across the entire app life cycle – concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support
Experience with push notifications, Firebase SDKs and third-party libraries
Should have expertise in Android Studio
Excellent knowledge of Agile Development process
Strong ability to write fully unit-tested code
Nice to have:
Experience with Jetpack Compose
Knowledge of Jira
