REPORTS TO: Intersession Administrator
POSITION SUMMARY:
Hartford Public Schools is excited to be launching Intersession the week of April 11, 2022 for grades 3 and 8 in the subject area of English Language Arts. Intersession is a research-based, academic program designed to provide targeted, high-leverage academic instruction and support to a subset of students who have a demonstrated academic need and are likely to see impact.
During our April Intersession week, teachers will provide targeted ELA and reading instruction to class sizes of 12 or smaller from the hours of 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m. In addition to targeted ELA instruction, students will have breakfast, lunch, recess and unified arts.
Teachers will have the opportunity to engage in high quality professional development and planning prior to the Intersession week. Teachers selected for this prestigious position will have networking opportunities, small class sizes, extensive planning time, data analysis time, and content area work.
JOB EXPECTATIONS: (teachers must be able to commit to the following days and hours):
(4) Four days of instruction, Monday, April 11, 2022 through Thursday, April 14, 2022.
(2) Two days of Professional Development & Planning, Saturday, April 2, 2022 & Saturday, April 9, 2022.
Hours 9:00 a.m. through 3:00 p.m.
QUALIFICATIONS: CT teaching certification – specific content area.

Salary and Terms of Employment: Part-time hourly rate in accordance with the Hartford Federation of Teachers’ Collective Bargaining Agreement $33.00 per hour$1800 stipend upon successful completion of the Intersession week
