The Opportunity
We are the exclusive agency for this exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented lawyer to join our client’s legal team as the first lawyer in it’s Asia-Pacific HQ in Singapore.

Our US-based client owns a number of global online social apps. This position is to support primarly one of their key brands which is growing rapidly in APAC.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE:

Draft, revise and negotiate various marketing and technology commercial agreements, including sponsorship, content production and promotion, advertising and media buying agreements, and, SaaS, vendor, general operations agreements and others.
Provide legal support for influencer marketing, contests, sweepstakes and other promotions including drafting accompanying rules and disclosures across various countries.
Support roll out and localization of new product features and initiatives.
Work closely with internal marketing and business teams to achieve desired business outcomes.
Provide support to the local business development team, including supporting various novel expansion initiatives and partnership opportunities.
Assist in administration of corporate policies and procedures, such as vendor security, privacy compliance and contract approval.
Focus on supporting international/emerging markets business groups with local law compliance, especially within the APAC region.
Work with internal counsel to establish, maintain and protect the global trademarks portfolio.
Provide other legal support as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

A law degree from an accredited law program.
Minimum 5-8 years’ experience, with top law firm and in-house legal department experience strongly preferred, prior tech-company experience is a bonus.
Ability to operate autonomously with limited supervision.
Excellent judgment, business acumen, strategic thinking and risk-approached decision making required.
Strong fact-finding, drafting, negotiating, writing and research skills.
Experience with marketing law, data protection, intellectual property, digital media, internet industry, and telecommunications partnerships; familiarity with the substantive laws relevant to our industry in any of the following markets a plus: Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand.
Excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as impeccable attention to detail, strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Able to manage competing expectations, be nimble, prioritize effectively and deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
The leadership acumen and credibility to inspire confidence among business clients in a high growth business.
Humble, hungry, and a curious mindset.
