Engineering and administration of MS SQL standalone and clustered database environments which includes latest version of DB.
Providing ongoing progress to leadership, system owners, and peers regarding the health of the environment
Analyze all aspects of the existing infrastructure and recommend modifications that will enhance system reliability, availability, serviceability and scalability
Enough expertise to identify and recommend changes/improvements to the process and infrastructure design
Performs database system management functions (e.g., software installs, version upgrades, and configuration management)
Hardening of MS SQL systems with Siemens Healthineers Infosec requirements
Provide daily backup and recovery services for company production databases and customer databases.
Provide L2/L3 supports for customers mission-critical databases including production database backup restore/refresh, troubleshooting, run time event investigation.
Perform Hot/Cold backup, clone from production to staging, moved production databases from one server to another.
Proven expertise to build DBA Objects like Queue Managers, Queues and channels
Demonstrate ability to implement High Availability, Workload Management and Failover, Disaster recovery in Azure or AWS or on-prem systems
Knowledge on use of Azure / AWS storage solution for backup/disaster setup
Knowledge on use of Azure /AWS monitoring for MS SQL setup
Knowledge on public clouds like Azure/AWS for IaaS setup for MS SQL servers
Knowledge on other MS SQL components
Good knowledge of ITIL
8+ years of relevant work experience within the IT infrastructure area with a background of IT Backend operations
Preferred Education:
A university degree in Computer Science or similar
Good knowledge in Office 365
Experience in Oracle would be an advantage
