Role Description

Job Purpose

Role involves the development of New products as per the design input and upgradation of existing products for cost and performance.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Responsibility Areas

Key Performance Indicators

1. Refer Literature / Patents and come up with ideas / proposals to support the development activities
2. Plan and Execute the experiments in structured way
3. Process the batches following the instructions
4. Perform the Test of the experimental designs as per defined test protocol, generate and record data in Lab Note Book
5. Carry out Optiva entries for all the experiments and get reviewed by Executive / Manager
6. Drive the experiments to conclusion with clear analysis of data
7. Conduct application/ product validation trials at sites outside R&T Turbhe
8. Evaluate benchmark samples with the use of appropriate characterization tools and through application
9. Evaluate alternate Raw Materials in the existing product formulation for suitability
10. Support plant on standardization of the product
11. Use of Root Cause Analylsis tools for resolving customer complaints
12. Comply to QMS and OHSAS
13. Conversant with shade matching activities
a. Completion of the assigned activities within the agreed timelines
b. Periodic Review of Experimental formulations entered in Optiva
c. Quality of the experiments performed

Role Requirements / Specifications

Qualifications
B. Tech/ M Tech (Paint Technology), MSc chemistry

Previous Experience
1-3 years

Functional Competencies
Should be conversant with Paint raw materials, formulation aspects, paint processing aspect, testing of liquid paint as well as cured paint, shade matching

1. Should be ready to travel for Business on short notice
2. Should not be allergic to chemicals generally encountered in solvent-based paints.
