About the Seer Clinic team
The Seer Clinic team facilitates the delivery of our world-leading EEG-ECG diagnostic AI solution. Our web platform allows our clinical staff to easily manage referrals, bookings and patient data and to connect with physical devices for recording data. It also supports web interfaces for clinicians to quickly follow and track their patient’s condition. There are a lot of interesting technical problems to solve, and solving them well can improve the lives of people in our community – it’s an exciting and rewarding field to work in!
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Full Stack JavaScript/TypeScript developer to join our Seer Clinic team as a Tech Lead to help us improve our main web app. Seer has a presence Australia-wide. Traditionally the software team has been mostly based in Melbourne but we’ve been just as effective working remotely so we’d be happy to hear from great software developers across Australia.
Your responsibilities
Developing, testing, and maintaining code for the main web app (ReactJS and Apollo Client) and the GraphQL server (NodeJS, ExpressJS and Apollo Server)
In collaboration with the rest of the team, ensuring that our software is user friendly, stable, secure, resilient, documented, and maintainable
Leading and facilitating discussions related to technical solutions and opportunities and advocating for their importance within and outside of the team.
Engaging with associated software and ML teams to promote consistency and quality.
Mentoring and growing team members and coordinating and consulting with the relevant Engineering Managers.
Playing a leading role in decisions around task assignment within the team to balance between existing expertise and the growth/learning of team members.
About you
Solid experience in web development (including both front and back-end development)
Very comfortable writing TypeScript and experienced with React (experience with additional frameworks would be a plus)
Familiar with:
NodeJS (especially ExpressJS)
SQL
Git, CI/CD, and agile development practices
GraphQL (especially the Apollo libraries)
Ability to mentor a diverse team with different backgrounds and experience levels
Good communication skills, attention to detail, and a focus on user experience
Enthusiasm for software quality (automated testing, code review, and documentation)
If you have experience with any of the following, it will be favourable but it’s okay if you don’t:
Managing and monitoring server infrastructure on AWS
Using monitoring tools like DataDog for debugging
Working with software products in regulated environments like healthcare
