Job summary
Amazon’s Worldwide Operations Employee Relations (ER) team is looking for a Senior UX Designer obsessed with customer success, passionate about simplification and design-thinking that is excited to dive deep into the growth opportunity of delivering new products and features. Our Senior UX Designer will take the lead in creating and utilizing tools and technologies to deliver to multiple business teams and external users. By collaborating with the business and working closely with program managers and ER leadership, you will be building solutions that are highly intuitive, cohesive, scalable, and maintainable. You will be responsible for designing solutions, owning the front end engineering, testing, release, and support of the applications and tools. As a Senior UX Designer, you will be the technical subject matter expert on the development of our customer facing applications.

Key job responsibilities

Design, build, test and release brand new user experiences to meet our stakeholder and customers needs with innovative and scalable solutions
Develop and maintain custom web app and modern browser applications while maintaining a steady release calendar
Focus on user efficiencies, solving business/customer issues, invent creative solutions, and ensure data accuracy across the systems.
Partner with global business stakeholders to proactively identify, drive, and build improvements, enhancements, and system customization that solve critical business needs
Participate in roadmap development and prioritization in partnership with the business team and stakeholders
Participate in change management process. Contribute your expertise to communication efforts across relevant stakeholders
Evaluate complex business and technical requirements, communicating inherent security risks and solutions to technical and non-technical business owners

About the team
What is Employee Relations at Amazon you ask? The Employee Relations team is responsible for reducing risk to the business by deploying programs, tools and solutions to empower the identification of defects in our employee experience across all roles in the WW Ops org. Our products and programs are global in scale and we continually innovate to transform and improve the employee experience. Candidates must have a successful record of building new programs form the ground up, improving existing portfolios and executing at scale. This Front End Engineer will play a critical role in advancing our mission by working directly with all of our ER team members which includes ER professionals, HR experts, operational leaders, program management experts, communications managers, and economists. This position supports Amazon’s Worldwide Operations portfolio, and when we do our jobs well, we have a direct positive impact on the daily work of over 900k+ Amazonians.

An available online portfolio demonstrating your process for creating great user-centered design solutions
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively to leadership
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple organizations and drive alignment
Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced environment, working on ambiguous and challenging projects
Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs, and customer expectations
Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of customer experiences
Experience with best practices for information architecture and design, as well as experience with usability principles and techniques
Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides
Effectively lead product discovery and design workshops
