Job Description : Functional DescriptionThe incumbent must be an expert in Shopify and willing to work in coordination with different stake holders to design, develop, and maintain the e-commerce websites and web tools. Must be competitive enough and enthusiastic to take the initiative and lead on new innovations and projects.ResponsibilitiesAs a Shopify Developer, the primary role is to develop an interactive and competent Online Store for driving Sales and Revenue.Generate custom Shopify Themes and modify pre-existing templates based on defined brand benchmarks.Work on web design updates (banner/product image changes, navigations, and collection creation)Responsible for new product uploads, specification updates, price changes and data entry on a daily basis.Perform regular site audits for quality and experience to better the UX/UIMonitor site appearance for accuracy (correct name descriptions, photos, merchandising)Must be specialised in all facets of the E-commerce platform.Ensure a seamless connection with Marketing Tools, Platform APIs, and Shopify Apps to optimise the store for sheer performance and needed functionalities.Collaborate with the UX and UI Design Teams to develop exclusive, robust, and innovative front-end user experiences.Must be specialised in frequent Testing and Debugging of websites for better performance. And often provide Technical Support and Coordination based on the findings, safeguarding businesses from failures.Responsible for optimizing website for increased conversion rates.Integrate third-party and platform supported apps in the sites.Set up payment integration, shipping methods and taxes in Shopify platform.Implement SEO/CRO best practices.Transform complex layout PSDs into pixel-perfect presentation-layer HTML5/CSS3 templatesQualifications & Criteria3+ years of web development experience2+ years direct eCommerce experienceExpert knowledge of Shopify/Shopify Plus theme modification (liquid) and Shopify APIs, and App methodologies and limitations with a minimum 2 years of experience.Complete know-how of Shopify’s Admin System is mandatory.Expertise in diverse programming languages and Full-Stack Web Applications will come in handy.Strong programming knowledge of “Liquid” for Shopify Stores and Shopify Themes is a must-have. Also must know HTML5 and CSS3, JavaScript/ECMA Script 5/6. A knowledge of SCSS (preferred)To build Shopify Apps you should be well conversant in “Ruby on Rails”. However, knowledge of PHP scripting language, JSON REST API, JS APIs (storefront, AJAX Cart, Sections etc) will be addedKnowledge of Google Analytics for Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) is also desirable. Furthermore, expertise in Google Content Experiments is required for Testing purposes.Knowledge of other popular E-Commerce Platforms like Magento, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce is a big plus.A thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issuesAn understanding of W3C web standards/semantics and accessibility guidelinesStrong interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders from multiple teams.
