Job Description : About Firemark

Firemark is an innovation and venturing hub.
We seek to partner with the passionate ones who are emboldened with an interesting idea and crazy ambition. We sculpt and springboard rough ideas and people full of potential into ready-to-market businesses and disruptive emerging technologies.

Culturally, we are a diverse bunch with many interests, skill sets, mother tongues, nationalities and preferred coffee (or hot choc!) orders. We like this about ourselves, so whilst there is no ‘Firemark type’, the chosen candidate will be someone who leans into new experiences, learnings, and embraces diversity by default.

Our mission is to make the world a safer place. We do this by building next generation products, services and business models incubated in-house or with our partners. We are owned by IAG (Insurance Australia Group), so we work closely with our colleagues in Australia and New Zealand to identify problem statements, understand the future of insurance from those working in the industry every day and to leverage subject matter expertise.

About the role

If you are passionate about the power of technology in transforming lives and you want to channel that into making the world safer, then we want to hear from you.

Firemark Singapore is hiring for a UX/UI Designer, the ideal candidate will be energetic, passionate and must have a can-do attitude. We are a small team with big ideas and big ambitions and we build teams which are whole-heartedly bought into our vision to make the world safer. Resilience and ability to see opportunity in the face of failure are must-have qualities. Along with the capacity to continuously learn and seek improvement.

As a UX/UI Designer, you will support Product teams from ideation, through to delivery.
Firemark being an innovation lab that harnesses novel technologies (eg. Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, NLP etc.) in solving big problems, the UX/UI designer must be able to think out of the box and visualize serving a new, safer world with desirable, useful, and usable modern digital designs.

You are not a purist, “either or” type of designer – you see the value of flexing into both UX and UI space to understand user needs and deliver delightful applications. You also see value in product management by helping the Product Teams define product roadmaps and running discovery/ideating workshops. You thrive in both independent and collaborative work and is a highly motivated individual even in ambiguity.

About the Team

We have a strong team of UX, UI, Graphic, and Service Designers with diversified experience designing for disruptive tech such as Computer Vision in drowning detection, Nature Language Processing in a mental wellness app and LiDAR scanning for consumer 3D modelling.
We are passionate about user-centricity in our designs and ensure our work is intuitive and delightful.

Above all, we are a bunch of fun-loving individuals – we know how to laugh & play hard together, but are also committed to our craft and do our utmost to design great work.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in UX, but we’d prefer to let your skills and portfolio do the talking
Comfortable with experimental design and working in ambiguity
A portfolio that demonstrates strong knowledge and experience of UX design solutions that incorporate UX principles, business needs, and technical feasibility
