THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Systems Architect, you will have knowledge and experience across multiple IT disciplines: SaaS app and vendor lifecycle management, infrastructure management (general cloud servers, networking, security in IaaS/PaaS), bespoke application platforms and servers (.NET, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Windows Servers, SSRS, SSIS, SCCM, Intune) and scripting/code (e.g. PowerShell, Phyton, bash).

Our successful candidate will coordinate and run Application Ops & Lifecycle (monitoring, governance, auditing, documentation, training, procedures, deployment, patching, configuration management) as well as implement and deploy new apps and systems within the business.

Your key responsibilities see you:

Setup and operate application lifecycle management: design, deployment, implementation, training, monitoring, alerting, patching (security and functional patches), change management and comms, configuration management.
Support governance and auditing of application procedures by application owners and be the application owner for a subset of City’s application
Apply best ITIL and Service Desk practices to maintain and track all incoming requests into City’s Service Desk
Be involved in selection, evaluation and implementation of new applications and design and maintain the application catalogue and profiles for each application
Ensure defined technical, operational and governance principles are embedded in the roll out and operation of all City apps
Contribute to defining acceptance criteria for new apps or changes to apps and testing that the product offering meets the requirements
Work with the relevant stakeholders and take ownership of the incidents and requests within SLAs and provide feedback to the product team for improvements

To be considered for this role you will have / be:

Bachelor of Computing Science/IT degree /diploma – Essential
Exposure and experience to Azure – Highly desirable
Solid prior experience in an Application operational/support role, ideally a mix of off the shelve and bespoke applications and integrations as well as governed SaaS applications,
ITIL exposure and experience with Service Desk software

Technical expertise:
.NET, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Windows Servers, SSRS, SSIS, PowerShell, Phyton, bash , Azure, SCCM, Intune
