Job Description : Associate EditorCirca £32,500paLocation: Hybrid home working and office working based at an RHS site. Weekly travel to Peterborough office required35 hours per week, Monday to FridayWe are looking to recruit a dynamic Associate Editor to join the RHS Editorial Team and report into the Executive Editor. As Associate Editor you will be a proactive, organised, highly-motivated, problem-solving ideas machine who will work creatively and flexibly across print and digital platforms pitching, writing, editing and commissioning engaging, timely and relevant articles. You will have a keen news sense. You will know the difference between writing, editing and commissioning for a print audience, and writing, editing and commissioning for a digital audience.You will be someone with print, digital and possibly audio editorial experience who will be a key contributor to the development of new print and digital RHS products. You will be a fabulous communicator and a key conduit between different areas of the Editorial Department, and between the RHS Editorial Team and other key departments within The RHS including Science, Communities and Communications. You will have impressive horticultural knowledge, perhaps with a horticultural qualification. You will have great contacts within the horticultural industry.Key responsibilities:· Planning, writing, editing and commissioning for key areas of The Garden magazine.· Planning, writing, editing and commissioning for other areas of the RHS Editorial Department, including RHS.org.uk and a new RHS app.· Being the key source of information within the RHS Editorial Department about horticultural happenings both inside and outside the RHS.To work for the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is to join a thriving charity, whose mission is to inspire everyone to grow.
