UOP India Pvt. Ltd. (UOPIPL) Engineering Skills Group has the capability to design environment friendly plants and systems while continually improving designs and engineering processes. Our vision is to establish UOP IPL Engineering Skills Group as the center of excellence for execution of Modular Process Units.

The Engineering Skills Team at UOP India (IPL) has successfully engineered and executed/ managed projects for delivery of Sch A Mech engineering design for various technologies and equipment engineering associated viz Viz in FCC, Hyroprocessing Reactors, Polybed PSA Units; high performance Trays (like MD/ ECMD Trays); modular Units (like CCR, Recovery Plus, ISOSIV, Merox etc) for clients both in India and abroad.

As a part of IPL’s growth plans, there exists a role for an Engineer – Static equipment. Below is a description of the roles & responsibilities for this position.

DIRECTLY ACCOUNTABLE for:
Preparation and understanding of UOP’s Basic Mechanical engineering design package for UOP procerss technologies and detail design of propriety internals for the technologies that are supported by UOP ( Sch A design)
Coordinating and providing support for any customer queries and its resolution.
The engineer will be assigned as a team member to multiple contracts at any given point in time. She/ he will be the prime responsible point of contact for internal technical matters related to predominantly Reactors/ Regenerators / Pressure vessels, other static equipment . He/she shall closely collaborate with the other team members from disciplines such as Process, Piping, Mechanical, CAD-design, Management and Project Management.
Design and detail engineering of pressure vessels as per international codes such as ASME Sec VIII Div 1 and Div 2/API standards etc as applicable.

Design and fabrication requirements of pressure vessels and should have good knowledge of fabrication methods and design constraints.

Involved in static equipment inspection / manufacturing is desirable.
Static analysis using latest computational methods viz FEA , code based calculation. Familiarity with CFD will be plus

Checking/Reviewing of drawings to ensure complete compliance with customer requirements, design calculations and code requirements.

Providing deliverables within budgeted cost and schedule at a high level of quality. Responsible for the quality of the static equipment deliverables. This will also involve input from other experts from throughout UOP
Working effectively with team members and proactively communicating key decisions made on projects to others
Identifying opportunities for improving Customer satisfaction

Unique Department Competencies:
Relevant experience in Design and Detailed engineering for Static Equipment (Reactors + internals) and other static equipment for Turnkey Projects which includes fluid flow and mechanical design for the petroleum refining & petrochemical industry.

Candidate shall be having good knowledge of Principles, Practices and Procedures related to design of static equipment. Including good in-depth knowledge and experience in Solid Mechanics / Fatigue / creep and Fluid Mechanics viz static and dynamics
Candidate shall also have an experience in production follow-up of various types of static equipment including Reactors, Pressure vessels, Internals ,heat exchangers, field support and troubleshooting.

Knowledge of applicable codes and software’s e.g. FE Pipe, Compress / PV Elite. Fluency and working expertise in CAD software – MicroStation ( 2D and 3D), AutoCad. Computation software Mathcad
Knowledge of inter-disciplinary linkages & interdependencies.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to be used at the International level with colleagues worldwide.
Ability to maintain departmental / technology infrastructureBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Bachelors degree in Mechanical.
Masters degree may be an asset.
Able to communicate effectively in English.
