Job Description : What you will do:
Setup the data replication from Oracle to PostgreSQL/Aurora.
Database Migrations – From Oracle RDS to Aurora PostgreSQL/PostgreSQL.
Prioritize work based on the project needs and work effectively with minimum supervision.
Manage, Monitor, Troubleshoot Database Operations, Optimize database performance, tuning.
Implement high availability, replication, and cluster on databases.
Database refreshes in on-prem and cloud.
Support application release deployment and perform data fixes.
Working with the application team to rewrite the Stored Procedures.
Troubleshooting performance issues in real time.
Work in a globally distributed team in an Agile/Scrum approach
Provide routine status reports to leadership and escalate as necessary.
Maintain Service Levels and department goals for problem resolution.
Follow security stands and effectively manage software patches and upgrades.
Utilize best practices, standard procedures.
Write and maintain clear documentation.
Ensure 24×7 availability for critical database systems hosted “on premise” and on AWS & Azure Cloud.
What you will need:
Experience in RDBMS database design, performance tuning, optimization, backup and recovery.
Experience in building and managing Databases in cloud (AWS RDS and Azure).
Must have experience in Aurora PostgreSQL and Oracle RDS to PostgreSQL/Aurora migration.
Strong Experience in data conversion/migration using AWS SCT & DMS from Oracle to AWS PostgreSQL/Aurora.
Must have good knowledge and experience of managing IaaS/ PaaS resources in AWS/Azure.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive hands-on experience and authoritative knowledge of various database platforms (i.e. Oracle, Postgres, AWS Aurora) to support high volume OLTP &DW systems.)
Experience designing and building environment on AWS, which includes working with services like EC2, RDS , Aurora, DMS , S3, IAM , Lambda, DynamoDB.
Skilled in scripting languages such as shell, python,powershell.
Working experience on Oracle RAC, Data guard, RMAN.
Strong troubleshooting and proactive analytical skills to ensure minimum downtime of production databases.
Understanding and ability to work with IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Aws
Lambda, Azure Resource Manager, Ansible etc.
Ability to envision and create automation for provisioning and administration tasks.
Good judgment, prompt decision-making ability, responsibility, and accountability.
Proven ability to work independently or as an integral member of a team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask; can set priorities and follow a timeline. Ready to work on flexible work schedule.
Good to have knowledge in No-SQL db’s like DocumentDB/MongoDB/MarkLogic/Neo4j.
Commitment to teamwork as a contributor and able to be on-call rotation for 24/7 support.
Database & Cloud certifications preferable.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum 10+ years of experience in Database Operations.
Minimum 8+ years of working experience in Oracle/PostgreSQL.
Minimum 3+ years of AWS cloud database migration (cloud to cloud, or on premise to cloud), and cloud architecture.
