CONTEXT OF THE ROLE:
Discovery is globally and in the country on a path of continuous growth transformation from being a profitable linear infotainment to a being an omnipresent brand across every screen across varied genres of Entertainment, Lifestyle and Sports.
We are looking for a passionate People & Culture partner to support that journey. To be successful in the role, the individual should love making a difference and play as a team member and/or coach to build winning businesses and highly energized teams. The individual should be able to lead and work as a trusted advisor to senior leaders in the business, leverage resources from the wider Discovery ecosystem and inspire individuals to create a culture where every employee can do their best work.
The role holder will support global teams based out of India (Non Tech) and work with cross-cultural leaders and managers as well as P & C parts from global & international teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drive the People & Culture strategy to meet the short-term and long-term needs to the business.
Be operationally strong as well as hands on. Own & manage the employee lifecycle from Onboarding to Exit.
Diagnose people trends at large and within the organization, measure organization effectiveness and adjust strategy as needed.
Connect people, teams and organization to execute the strategy. Find ways for Managers/ Senior leaders to create meaningful connections with each other and their teams.
Create exceptional employee experiences through the employee lifecycle.
Previous experience on SuccessFactors would be very valuable.
Working with Global Leaders and P&C Partners emerge as a trusted partner.
Build collaborative relationships within People & Culture team internationally as well as business teams & individual employees in business.
Take the lead on Recruitment. Ensure knowledge of the local market to attract and recruit top talent.
Drive Talent campaign in partnership with the leaders to identify, develop and retain a diverse and inclusive pool of talent and succession plans for Critical Roles
Lead or partner (as applicable) on P&C related projects and support the roll out of annual global HR initiatives.
Support a culture of ongoing honest and open feedback.
Be the P&C Partner on new and innovative business projects and lead on organisation and people focused priorities. Liaising with specialist functions (Rewards, Employment Legal, Diversity Equity & Inclusion etc) as needed
Qualifications:
Highly passionate about understanding & partnering with business with a genuine interest in people.
Has some Business Partner experience in progressive, fast-paced environments. Having worked in consumer Digital businesses is an added advantage.
Ability to influence stakeholders independently.
Apply good judgment to resolve problems & demonstrate flexibility.
Ability to work in a highly ambiguous environment.
Be part of the solution.
Functional understanding of Employee Life cycle with subject matter expertise in one of the following- Talent Management, Total Rewards or Learning & Development.
Being articulate and having excellent facilitation skills are really important to being successful in the role.
Ability to work in matrix structure in cross cultural teams. Willing to work flexible time on pre-planned meetings.
Knowledge of India local labor regulations and knowledge of benefits are a must.
