The Database Security Engineering team is responsible for developing and implementing security solutions to protect Apple’s Data. We are seeking an extraordinary engineer with multi-faceted skills in software development, data store technologies, data science and computing infrastructure to create tools, services, and frameworks in hybrid environment We are part of Apple’s Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) division, and are based primarily in Sunnyvale, California with teams in Austin (TX), Seattle, Bangalore and Hyderabad India – working as a single global team.
Key Qualifications
5+ Years of experience with Software/Security Engineering
Expertise in JavaScript/Python and Shell programming.
Expertise with both building and using log aggregation and distributed monitoring tools (Splunk, Elastic Stack, etc.)
Experience in field of Identity and Access Management, as well as Encrypting Data in transit and at rest
Experience with monitoring, analysis and visualizations through dashboard technology such as Grafana
Skilled in cloud technologies such as AWS or GCP, container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Micro services and deploying them at scale
Knowledge of Unix environments, networking and datacenter architecture.
A good sense for service-level objectives and how to measure and enforce them using automation
Ability to quickly adapt and learn new technology and participate in design discussions as needed
Excellent interpersonal skills, and the capability of working with cross functional teams and varying levels of management
Description
We build and maintain the infrastructure, tools and frameworks needed to secure and protect Apple’s data. As part of the team responsible for developing and implementing database security solutions, you will need to – Partner with various cross functional team and management to build and prioritize projects in database security space – Write, build, deploy, and maintain software for database security infrastructure – Good understanding of Identity and Access Management using, IDAP, SAML, OAuth, Kerberos – Knowledge of Encryption solutions for data in transit/at rest, using Asymmetric/Symmetric Cryptography – Recognize that defects and incidents are a precious opportunity to improve, and put processes and tools in place to drive those improvements
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Additional Requirements
DESIRED
Experience with data science and/or machine learning
AWS Certified Security – Specialist Or GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer
