As Finance Advisor Controller, you will serve as the face of Finance for opportunities or challenges prioritised based on value and risk. You will be accountable for the delivery of Finance capability required to support a set of clearly defined business outcomes across multiple activities/assets.
What’s the role?
As the Finance Advisor Controller, you will be responsible for a variety of activities or opportunities assigned by the Line Manager based on Value/Risk (e.g., control frameworks concerns, performance management system issues, large investments, complex contracts) depending on the requirements, of the specific activity:
Deliver the full suite of Finance support (including tax, treasury, accounting and structuring) autonomously and coordinate the involvement of CoEs/SMEs, where required.
Independently ensure that a proper functioning control framework is in place and that risks are properly understood, reflected and managed.
Independently ensure value and risks are made transparent and understood in both decision-making and in performance management.
Spearhead structural improvement projects and successfully transfer the accountability for delivery to the right teams/people.
Contribute towards the digitalization journey by bringing new proposals of high value activities.
Actively look for opportunities to reduce non-value adding Finance activity (“demand management”).
Furthermore, you will provide support to the Deputy Controller to:
Lead change management activities in legal and fiscal space (like changes under FEMA, Tax, Export and Import compliances, MSME, TReDS, External Commercial Borrowings, etc) across the legal entity.
Support India market entry for new businesses that may come up as well as strategic and portfolio activities.
Provide end to end finance support on CSR activities and compliance.
Collaborate across businesses to understand the legal and fiscal implications, identify the change requirement and manage the change with minimum business disruptions
Monitor local regulatory compliances, fines and penalties at legal entity level and provide visibility on deviations/fines/penalties and corrective steps undertaken.
Collaborate with finance service centers across accounting and reporting activities including audits and accounting advisory.
Act on behalf of Deputy Controller in his/her absence.
As part of a pool supporting the business, you are expected to:
Work on various opportunities across multiple businesses. The work they perform will change over time and be prioritized based on value and risk, and professional development.
Work on specific projects/transactions with business stakeholders as the voice of Finance to deliver as “One Finance” with the (CoE) and Finance Operations.
Acts across organisational boundaries as required in the specific activity (e.g., across Finance for an opportunity across all CoBs in India).
What we need from you?
A Chartered Accountants (CA) qualification with a minimum of four years of post-qualification experience.
Sound understanding of Ind-AS and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Experience in Corporate Governance and controls would be an added advantage.
Experience of handling matters under corporate laws, direct and indirect taxation and FEMA would be an added advantage.
Hands on experience of working on accounting ERP (SAP, Oracle, equivalent).
Fluency in communication, ability to manage stakeholders (including senior stakeholders) to achieve results through influencing and motivating others.
Maturity and authority to decide when to involve CoEs and effectively play the independent Finance role.
Problem solving mindset with the courage to ensure professional financial rigor is applied to commercial decision-making process and risk management, bringing analytics and insights to the table.
Should be able to get going with limited supervision and take end to end accountability of areas assigned.
