Job Description : Are you an accountant or accounting professional looking for a great opportunity to further your skills and expand your network into the world of academia? This temp-to-hire Accounting Associate position with a Springfield institution could be just what you need. Pay range is $23-$25 per hour.

In this role, you’ ll handle a variety of transactional accounting tasks. Some of your regular responsibilities include the following:

Prepare various reports, analyze financial data, and monitor general ledger accounts

Identify and resolve variances in a timely manner, contacting departments to resolve discrepancies and processes journal entries and necessary adjustments

Monitor the operating bank account activity, including review and resolution of any potential fraudulent items through the bank’ s Positive Pay process

Prepare journal entries for bank activity

Review bank reconciliations for accuracy and assist the Staff Accountant with resolving any issues or difficulties in reconciling the College’ s complex operating bank account

Manage A/P and student refund check printing process

Accounting Associate Requirements

Bachelor’ s degree in accounting or related field preferred (but not required)

At least 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role (higher ed experience ideal)

Demonstrated experience and skills in reconciling complex accounts

Experience with ERP systems and other accounting software
