Job Description : The Controller provides critical and core support to the accounting process and is responsible for the management of the fiscal department, establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. This position works on several special projects as needed.RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise Fiscal department staff – accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll functionsPlanning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functionsManaging the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate account of business resultsCoordinating activities of external auditors and annual auditsAssessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new accounting processesMaintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresEstablishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controlsEnsure timely filing of all regulatory reportingMaintain banking relationship including bank reporting requirements, account management and online banking access and functionsReconcile fixed asset subledger and construction in progress accountPrepare final expenditure reports for PPA projectsPreparation of board reportsPreparation of annual financial statementsAssist with annual budget processPreparation of annual tax filings, Form 990, CHAR 500, etc.Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staffAssist with special projects as needed.POSTION REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.Should have strong proficiency in MS Excel.Experience: This position should have the ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and manage multiple priorities. Seven years of general accounting experience including supervisory experience preferably within a complex non-profit organization. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Experience should also include management, audit preparation, financial statement analysis and supervision of diversified professional teams.Job Type: Full-timePay: $150,000.00 – $170,000.00 per yearSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: One location
