Job Description : If you are a COST ACCOUNTANT professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our RUSSELLVILLE, KY location, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all phases of the Cost Accounting activities personally or through Supervisors and Associates, you will be expected to support activities as directed by the Finance Manager.
AS A COST ACCOUNTANT, YOU WILL:
Prepare required journal entries for monthly closings.
Complete periodic audits of inventory controls. Identify problems and develop controls to eliminate any problems.
Prepare, review and analyze monthly material variance reports and various account reconciliations. Provide explanations for changes in variances and discuss with management.
Investigate and report material variances; work with materials department to implement corrections.
Prepare monthly material variance forecast, including the month-end close results.
Coordinate BOM audits and investigate differences.
Complete various reports related to scrap revenue and monitor scrap payments.
Involved in the process to approve new part numbers.
Manage the process of the annual cost roll-up, including work with procurement on significant cost changes. Provide in-depth analysis for each product family to explain all material plant changes.
Assist in the coordination, performance, and reconciliation of the annual physical inventory.
Supervise raw material and cycle count audits. Investigate any high variance.
Complete cost reduction audits.
Complete special projects at the request of plant or division management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or other related majors, plus a minimum of 2-3 years of related working experience in manufacturing industry.
Legal authorization to work in the United States – Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
MBA or Master’s Degree preferred.
5 plus years of related working experience in manufacturing industry preferred.
ERP experiences (Oracle) preferred.
Sitting for CPA license preferred.
