Role Description
Role Description: PHP Developer

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technology developer with experience in developing scalable applications and platforms. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. The person should be a self-motivated person with a passion for problem solving and continuous learning.

Role and responsibilities

Collect requirements, design, develop and test software code.
Fix bugs and provide production support.
Prioritize across multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
Learn new technologies outside his/her primary skills.
Develop solutions to challenging problems.
Effectively communicate with team members, project managers and clients, as required.

Technical skills requirements

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in,

Strong PHP and Object Oriented Programming experience.
Strong User Interface development experience with HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, and CSS (preferably Bootstrap) Background developing HTML views based on template.
Strong Proficiency in writing SQL queries and interacting with databases (preferably Postgres).
Understanding of web servers (preferably Apache).
Strong proficiency in working and developing application for Linux platforms.
Takes responsibility for quality and timeliness of work.
Enjoys solving problems with large datasets.
Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment.
Impeccable written English

Nice-to-have skills

Experience with Python programming & Django web framework.
Background knowledge of computer security principles
Solid understanding of networking & related trouble-shooting of web-based applications & APIs
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs
Understanding of legacy PHP development practices
Background with Database Management and Tuning Distributed Transactions

Qualifications

1 to 3 years of work experience in PHP application development
B.Tech or MCA degree from a reputed university
