Job Description
42Q is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive DevOps Operations Engineer to join our corporate team whose main goal is to create, maintain, support, and monitor the necessary cloud infrastructure for the company’s applications. The primary responsibility is to use innovative technologies/software to monitor applications and environments in the cloud (AWS, Google) as well as set up intelligent application performance alerts to find and fix issues before they impact business services and end-users.
Role and responsibilities
Maintain the necessary infrastructure to support the applications and users.
Install and configure servers, hardware and software as required using orchestration technology.
Monitor applications and system health.
Work on maintaining compliance with industry standards for cloud application operations.
Support the systems to ensure that stability is maintained, and assist in the event of downtime.
Coordinate with the development teams when application issues are identified.
Troubleshoot application build, deployments, recreate customer issues, build a proof of concept applications.
Work in collaboration with software engineering to develop/deploy new versions.
Work closely with the Support team to triage support tickets escalated to the operations or development teams.
Write tutorials, statistics, how-to videos, and other technical articles as required.
Research and experiment with new technologies that can improve day to day operations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the related field
Knowledge of monitoring web applications using New Relic, Nagios or similar tools
Knowledge of cloud computing management with tools including but not limited to CloudHealth
Interest in measuring, analyzing, and improving distributed systems
Familiar with web application development using HTML, Javascript, Java, AngularJS, PostgreSQL database
Good written and verbal communication skills
Well organized and can take direction and work independently
Team working skills
Knowledge of SOC II requirements
