Job Description : Department overview & the Role description

The retail Deposits Interest Rate Pricing team Supports CSBB/DPG in development and execution of deposit interest rate strategy and tactics. One of the key objectives is to Support deposit balance growth and yield management objectives and it’s pivotal to maintain the highest standard of business controls and risk management practice. One of the key proposition should be to thoughtfully consider Wells Fargo’s value proposition, customer experience, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, Consumer and Small Business Banking and Treasury objectives when setting rates. The goal and the objective is to provide best in class deposit pricing, balances and yields analytics and insights.

This role will focus primarily on reporting and interest rate implementation. Currently, many of the tasks are required less frequently and are less intensive due to the low interest rate environment. The role also need to support for any change management especially when the rate environment is more dynamic. The role also requires proper governance and cadence around the approvals, EUCT’s and model management. The role also needs proper adherence to the documentation and process flows to be in place.

Roles & Responsibilities
Extract data from various databases using pre-defined SAS and SQL queries
Update pre-existing Excel-based reports including tables, charts and graphs using data pulled from various sources.
Compile business and financial review packages in PowerPoint
Assist with interest rate operations using Wells Fargo proprietary rate systems
Assist with interest rate pricing governance e.g. obtaining, tracking and archiving approval emails required in accordance with authority matrix
Assist with shared drive file and folder maintenance in accordance with Company retention guidelines
Collect financial data, performing high-level analysis, testing for accuracy, identifying and resolving data issues.
Perform Trend analysis of the various various financial information, review the variances, validate & analyze the data. Highlight any data integrity issues in a proactive manner to the management.
Perform detailed variance analysis and come out with a meaningful commentary and a good story line to understand the financials better.
Incumbent should have strong communication, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Work in tandem / coordination with the technology team, product Finance partners, analytics team and downstream users as part of stakeholder engagement.
Candidate should be a good on reporting / data analytics and should support future build out for reports and dashboard.
Candidate should have good expertise on Essbase / EDG support and should be good with problem solving, trouble shooting, Validations, uploads and data rollovers.
Strong Hand on experience in Advanced Excel with VBA macros which is a must to have.
Must have hands on experience in BI Reporting space, experience to develop the Reporting/Dashboards in Tableau suite.
Serve as a valuable resource to the other members of the team while promoting knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
Supports the creation and delivery of data outputs and related reporting. As needed, develops specific, customized reports, ad hoc analyses, and/or data visualizations.
Conducting in-depth research of financial, operating and analyzing, interpreting and reporting findings; working with business partners
Requires extensive data reconciliation & consolidation as well as analysis, additionally coupling the use of scenario and sensitivity analysis to forecast possible outcomes, and use this theoretical information to create key metrics for monitoring
Essential Qualifications
Qualification in Finance / preferably a cost and management accountant / chartered financial analyst or MBA Finance.
Strong reporting and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to gather, organize, and interpret data
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Experience using business knowledge and critical thinking skills to deliver upstream and downstream project impacts
SQL and SAS experience
Tableau experience
Micro strategy experience
Good exposure to financial statements with a fair understanding of the revenue and expense components, preferably from a banking industry.
Candidate should have a good operational expertise on Essbase / Hyperion and or other data retrieval tools. Candidate should be very good with his Excel skills.
Candidate should be fast and quick and trouble-shooting, problem solving and also be good at query resolutions and or ad-hoc requests that come from time to time.
Candidate should also be good at handling ad-hoc projects, transformation and process efficiency. Exposure to robotics and automations an added advantage.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills & and Power point.
Ability to perform complex analyses, build financial models, draw conclusions, and communicate recommendations to business leaders.
Prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with critical deadlines.
Desired Qualifications
Good expertise in Data Lineage, data flow / architecture and data quality.
Sound in any one of the relational databases.(Teradata, MS SQl, Oracle …).
Industry experience (Banking) strongly preferred.
Experience of working across one or more geographic territories or regions.
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
