Job Description : The Role
Qualified Accountant (CA/ICWA/CIMA) with 4 to 6 years of post-qualification and having at least 2 years of relevant experience in FP&A profile encompassing Business Planning, Forecasting and Performance Appraisals.
Purpose:
The individual will be a part of an integrated regional Finance team, working with the Refining Finance Managers, Finance Advisors, senior business contacts, to address scenarios and specific business challenges, and Regional/Global PAMs.
The incumbent will act as Refining Margin focal point at Chennai and is expected to comprehend business context to be able to interact with business and provide insights on various value drivers and play a vital role in decision support framework to create bottom line impact through MI for the Site/Region
The role has a lot of potential to challenge the status quo and drive commerciality, E2E process improvements through understanding of business levers. The role holder will have strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence senior Business and Finance professionals across the organization.
The priorities & GPA will be aligned with the operational goals of the business that they work with.
With the growing scope of work and depth of impact more capability is required to drive the aspired outcomes (as per WGLL – What Good Looks Like). To be successful in this role, the Analyst need to develop deep business knowledge and good understanding of the priorities of the region also provide more thought leadership in driving towards agreed business outcomes.
Accountabilities:
Analyze, interpret, and report monthly Margin and operational performance in a clear and concise manner.
As the Refining Margin Focal, will be responsible for the Latest Estimates, and Operational Plan exercise which will provide additional context to the individual for quality regional appraisals.
It involves establishing deep connectivity with various stakeholders like On-shore finance, Margin focal points, Hydrocarbon Management Team, and other Finance Operations team like Intra Group /Controllers amongst others.
Provide supporting analysis and advice on Business Planning, Latest Estimates, Cost Leadership activities to the Finance Advisor, PL/Site Finance Manager, Site Leadership Team and the Regional Finance Manager as required.
Execute closing responsibilities flawlessly (First Time Right).
Drive development/design of new MI and finance support processes, Continuous focus on improvement opportunities in process to reduce complexity, aggressively adopt/share best practices
Leverage the existing business knowledge and generate Non-FO benefit ideas to generate bottom line impact for the business supported.
Must develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and understand the operations of the business.
Able to link various site/market events with the results and identify value leakages
Able to conduct business conversations and communicate freely with all levels of the organization.
Able to provide Ad hoc financial and business decision support.
Leadership skills:
Experience participating in cross-functional initiatives, while continuing to manage current workload.
Ability to make process/business improvement recommendations and take the lead in implementing improvements.
Strong communication and Collaboration skills:
Ability to relay financial information in a way that people with little or no financial background can understand
Understand the big picture and summarize data for presentations.
Ability to work with a diverse set of individuals across finance and business community.
Ability to understand end users needs and translate into successful project delivery.
