Job Description : Collections SpecialistGreat Lakes Foot and Ankle offers comprehensive foot and ankle at its clinics across Michigan and Illinois. Our clinics feature the lastest innovation and medical equipment, and we are committed to help patients achieve positive outcomes to support long-term foot and ankle health.We are looking for a competent Collection Specialist to contact clients and collect outstanding payments with a balance of maintaining trustful relationships and ensuring timely paymentsDuties/Responsibilities:Monitoring accounts to identify outstanding paymentsUpdate account status records and collection activityPrepare and maintain demand lettersResend invoices and statement as requiredFind and contact patients/clients to ask about their overdue paymentsTake actions to encourage timely debt paymentsProcess payments and refundsResolve billing and customer credit issuesPerform other duties as may be assigned by supervisorRequirements:High School diploma or GEDMinimum 2 years of previous experience in doctor’s office collectionsAll Payor knowledge including Medicare/MedicaidWorking knowledge of MS Office and databasesExcellent communication skillsSkilled in negotiationProblem-solving skillsFamiliarity with laws related to debt collectionPhysical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesBenefitsHealth/Dental/Vision Insurance401kPaid time offJob Type: Full-timePay: $16.00 – $22.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental Pay:Signing bonusAbility to commute/relocate:Chesterfield, MI 48047: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Work Location: One location
