Position : Director of Learning & Development
Job Description : The Director of Learning and Development is responsible for establishing a learning program that will provide an engaging employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle. Focusing on the company’s culture and values, the L&D team will continuously analyze the organization’s needs to ensure the learning programs are aligned with the business goals while providing employees a path for development and growth.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the overall implementation and results of property-wide learning and development initiatives with the goal of improving business results and employee engagement.
Work with key managers across the organization too continuously analyze and evaluate learning needs for the organization
Monitor and evaluate the progress and effectiveness of training and development programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Develop and implement an extensive leadership development program to be used for internal and external candidates.
Utilize instructional design models and processes for planning, designing, and creating materials for classes
Designs and produces curriculum and training aids (i.e., case studies, simulations, games, exercises, etc.) and support material.
Develops, in conjunction with department management, technical job skills and customer service training.
Works with departments to ensure all training materials are accurate and well maintained.
Advises and assists with design of instructional systems and technology to facilitate property and department needs.
Functions as an internal consultant to assist management in the analysis and identification of organizational issues and development.
Responsible for project management of multiple and large-scale projects, establishing and meeting timelines, attention to detail and follow-through.
Ensures the extensive compliance related training requirements are consistently met. Provides property reporting to company executives on a regular basis to monitor class attendance in property-wide compliance training initiatives.
Researches and coordinates all non-company training programs for ESL, GED, Citizenship and Leadership training as needed.
Leads the L&D team towards achieving the departmental and organizational goals. Works closely with the L&D team members to help them develop with career goals and succession planning in mind.
Mentors other trainers by offering train the trainer sessions, side-by-side shadowing, and classroom facilitation feedback.
Reports to the Head of Human Resources.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
Resourceful, demonstrates curiosity and a growth mindset; fosters an environment that supports learning, innovation, and intelligent risk-taking.
Well-versed in Adult Learning Theory and how to actively engage participants in class.
Demonstrated ability to train/educate adults.
Three (3) years+ management experience required.
Seven (7) years training/facilitating experience or hotel/casino operations experience required.
Instructional Design experience required.
Experience with implementing training programs in a high-volume environment.
Extensive knowledge of luxury service standards strongly preferred.
Experience conducting needs analysis and back-end analytics to measure success.
Proficient with Learning Management Systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft software to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate concisely to all levels of the organization. Excellent presentation and organizational skills required.
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
Must present a professional and polished appearance.
Age, Gaming and Certifications:
21 years of age or above.
Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries from a variety of sources.
Fluency in English required, second language a plus.

Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least thirty (30) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking.
