Job Description : The Operations Specialist must be proficient in performing complex tasks of landscape maintenance including but not limited to; irrigation troubleshooting and repair, advanced pruning techniques and pesticide and herbicide application. This position works under the direction of the Account Manager. Tasks performed will include; work planning, scheduling, prioritizing and organizing, material procurement and liaison with customers. This role will also be expected to meet the performance and quality standards set by the Field Performance guidelines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· Must maintain a physically fit condition with no limitations on mobility of upper and lower body.
· Must be able to work in various positions on uneven terrain and surfaces, including but not limited to walking, standing, stooping, bending over, kneeling or squatting for extended periods of time.
· Must occasionally lift, push and pull loads or equipment up to 50 lbs.
OTHER
· Must be willing to learn new skills and follow instructions by others.
· Report to work daily at the assigned time and location, sober and ready to perform assigned duties.
· If unable to report to work, you must notify your immediate supervisor prior to the start of the work day.
· Demonstrate a knowledge and compliance with all company policies and procedures.
· Must have completed training for the application of chemicals.
· Demonstrate the ability to follow a prioritized work schedule, supervise and manage subordinates.
· Must be able to communicate in both English and Spanish.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting the Company culture.
· Networking and recruiting in the local area to find crew level employees, screening, and training of employees.
· Assist the Supervisor in evaluating individual team members.
· Responsible for the retention and training of employees.
· Responsible for the advancement of individuals after required training has been completed.
· Disciplining employees when necessary and communicating with leadership as needed regarding employee issues.
· Managing crew productivity on each job and ensuring that tasks are completed on or before the total estimated hours.
· Assist the Supervisor with work force scheduling appropriate to each maintenance account and according to the Field Performance Program.
· Overseeing timely dispatch, proactive scheduling, equipment, vehicle, and small equipment.
· Ensure that daily patrolling occurs on all jobs as described in the Field Performance Program
· Responsible for ensuring overall job quality meets Park West standards as set by the Field Performance guidelines.
· Attend job walks with Account Manager and customers when necessary
· Ensures timely completion of job ‘punchlists’ created during meetings and job walks
· Responsible for the completion and closing of all open work orders and maintenance requests
· Manage job and project budgets to ensure materials and labor achieve or exceed the budgeted goals.
· Ensures that jobs are following the Plant Health program guidelines
· Understanding of the Plant Health program as it pertains to the proper product usage, application rates and application methods.
· Conducting and managing safety training as well as monitoring and enforcing safety practices and policies and the proper use of PPE.
· Identify and correct all unsafe conditions or practices and communicate actions to the maintenance Account Manager or Safety Officer.
· Understands the safe operation and training of all required equipment included in the L-book training.
· Recognize any irrigation system deficiencies and ensure proper repairs are completed.
· Assist in the installation or repair of irrigation components as required or directed.
· Annually complete and record Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI’s) of all irrigation systems in the portfolio.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour
