JOB DESCRIPTION

Assisting patients in selecting frames
Processing glasses orders
ordering contact lenses
Inventory
Going over insurance benefits with patients
Understanding lens options and discussing with patients
Assist doctor in providing care to patients
Taking patient medical histories
Performing medical tests
Answering questions about medications, eyeglasses, and contact lenses.
Handling referrals
Participating in company and office meetings and training programs as required
Light housekeeping around the office, including sanitizing, restocking supplies, and wiping down surfaces, etc.
Collecting insurance information/checking on insurance benefits/obtaining authorizations/billing insurance
Accessing records through online electronic medical records
Answering phone calls & scheduling/confirming appointments according to practice guidelines

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Optician experience preferred
Optometry/Ophthalmology experience or customer service experience in a medical setting, hospitality or spa environment preferred
High school diploma required, some continuing education preferred
Passion for helping people
Ability to pass background check
References

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $21.00 per hour
