Applicant must be able to work well with crew members and follow direction. Must have a valid driver’s license with favorable motor vehicle record. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. You will be working outdoors in the summer months so temperatures can be extreme. Must not be afraid to operate a shovel or rake. Capable to repeatedly lift and carry heavy objects (50 lb.) walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor under adverse conditions.
Pay/Benefits/Hours for Assistant Paving Superintendent:
$22 – 28 DOE
Direct Hire
Availability from 06:00am – 06:00pm
A lot of over time during the Spring and Summer months
Fringe Benefits to help cover insurance package premiums available after 90 days of employment. Longevity bonus offered to those who work at least 90 days and finish the season out with us (typically end of November).
Longevity bonus at the end of the year from 0.25 cents to 0.50 cents an hour
Referral Bonus: $50.00 e-gift card of your choice after your referral works 40 hours
Responsibilities for Assistant Paving Superintendent: This person will successfully lead a team that works together demonstrates respect, trust, open communication, teamwork, accountability, growth, and development.
This crew will perform numerous asphalt paving projects in various locations throughout the state.
You will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and scheduling of on-site operations of site crew, customers, and subcontractors to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and that performance objectives are met.
Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion.
Requirements for Assistant Paving Superintendent:
knowledge of the construction industry.
Must have previous experience with asphalt paving and grading.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage workers
Must have strong reading, writing, comprehension, and communication skills.
Must have knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and CDL laws
Must demonstrate excellent safety awareness and standards. Must project a positive and cooperative attitude with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the general public.
Ability to pass drug test and physical. Clean driving record/valid drivers’ license (Class A license a plus).
