The OR/Surgical Technician II is responsible to the Director of Surgical Services or OR Manager. Under the direct supervision of the charge nurse and/or the circulating nurse in the room. At this level, the surgical technologist functions independently in all Level I and Level II procedures. Also serves as a preceptor for new staff on Level I and Level II procedures. Responsible to take first and second call as required by the department. Is responsible for appropriate instrumentation adjustment relevant to the ages and sizes of the
patients served, i.e. Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:
Graduation from an accredited program for Surgical Technician (required). High school graduate or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE:
One year Operating Room (OR) experience (preferred).
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
AmericanRed Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS)and Certification. Certified Surgical Tech preferred.
