Yellowstone Club’s Outdoor Pursuits (OP) department is currently seeking candidates for a Summer Activities Manager.
The Summer Activities Manager provides leadership, supervisory oversight, and management of the daily operations of the Outdoor Pursuits Guides.
Responsibilities Include:
Collaborate and communicate with Director of Outdoor Pursuits to ensure department success
Provide training and leadership for the Challenge Course, Trap & Skeet Shooting, Hiking, Mountain Biking, 3D Archery, UTV Tours, and Rock Climbing areas and staff
Create weekly employee work schedules and control labor based on activity level
Delegate daily work assignments appropriately
Plan and provide training and guidance daily, weekly, and monthly
Provide strong leadership and inspire Guide staff
Communicate and work with OP Reservations and Billing/Payroll about booked activities
Communicate and work with Retail/Rental team about booked activities
Remain calm under pressure; handle crisis management as it unfolds and remain flexible to change as events happen
Be organized and detail oriented, utilizing checklists or other systems to ensure no task is left undone; anticipate events and plan ahead; prepare for the unexpected; remain focused on the end result
Be helpful, respectful, approachable and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment
Possess strong customer service focus striving for high Member and guest satisfaction, going out of the way to be helpful and pleasant, and making it as easy as possible for the Members and guests to do business with the Club for special events, parties or other social activities
Manage inventory of all Yellowstone Club event supplies
Manage program design, facility management, assessment, risk management, and staffing including hiring, training and supervising
Help to document activities prior to and during the events for internal and external communications
Assist with managing on-site set up and clean up for activities as necessary
Position Requirements:
High school diploma
Bachelor’s degree in outdoor recreation, education, business and/or 5+ years of full-time experience managing/leading outdoor recreation programs; university, NOLS, Outward Bounds, YMCA, etc.
Strong communication and correspondence skills
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office systems
Capable to manage multiple priorities, work independently and cooperatively, and take initiative
