Job Description : P*O*SIT*I*ON SUMMARY:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for assisting with maintaining the Bank’s fiscal record keeping system by utilizing generally accepted accounting principles; adheres to tax laws and regulatory compliance to properly reflect the financial position of the Bank; ensures department activities run smoothly and efficiently; provides leadership, training and supervision within the department; provides a high level of customer relations and service; and ensures compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership/Staff Management
Manage and supervise the bank accounting staff and the day-to-day accounting processes and activities.
Assist with the day-to-day account processes and activities
Provide backup to the accounting staff and know how to perform staff responsibilities.
Provide training and mentoring of the accounting staff.
Financial
Prepare financial reports presented to the Board of Directors.
Prepare Quarterly Call report and other reporting required by regulatory agencies and auditors.
Accountable for general ledger reconciliation, analysis of financial accounts and preparation of journal entries.
Assist with daily cash management and investments.
Coordinates accounting activities, including accounts payable and fixed asset management.
Prepare Quarterly Banker Commission Distribution.
Budgeting
Assist with budget preparation, profit forecasts and operating changes.
Input of the budget into the Bank’s core operating systems.
Regulatory
Assist with audits performed by external auditors.
Assist with examinations performed by regulatory agencies.
Compliance
Assist with ensuring that the Bank’s accounting procedures are in compliance.
Assist with ensuring the Bank’s compliance of laws and regulations.
Write procedures to standardize department operations. Identify, address, and recommend to management necessary policy and procedure changes.
Document, standardize and measure key processes; promoting quality control and efficiency.
Internal Cooperation
Provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers.
Respond to email requests in a timely manner, no later than 24 hours from request.
Problem resolution at first point of contact, whenever possible.
P*O*SI*T*IO*N TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: *
This is a full-time position and normal hours of work and days are Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend hours may be required to meet set deadlines.
T*RA*VE*L*:
Travel will be mandatory when it is necessary to attend training or other events in person.

REQ*U*IRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND:
Accounting/Finance BA preferred.
Five years of related experience in a banking environment.
Proven leadership/supervisory experience required
Excellent communication and people skills required.
Strong judgment skill, analytical skills, computer skills and attention to detail.
The ability to work independently and utilize effective decision-making skills is needed for the success of this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
