We are seeking to hire a Controller to work in our natural lighting company and help our small business achieve new heights in the construction industry.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports
Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions
Prepare forecasts of income statement and balance sheets
Work across organizational boundaries and all levels of the company to achieve company objectives
Provide consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions
Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Manage the budget process
Develop and monitor business performance metrics
Comply with tax filing requirements
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions
Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits
We believe that for YOU to be successful in this role, you will need:
Experience in a manufacturing or construction business is preferred
3-5 years of progressively relevant experience as an accounting and business professional
BA in Accounting and MBA/MS with a focus on Finance is preferred
Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection
Strong knowledge of US GAAP
Cost accounting experience
Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably with experience doing a systems conversion
Attention to detail
Basic math skills to make accurate calculations and estimates
Strong understanding of tax codes and laws
Excellent communication skills, internally and with clients
Ability to build relationships with colleagues, clients, and staff in charge
Exhibit familiarity with Google Suite, CRM software, and video-conferencing tools
Communicate clearly and effectively
Capability to conduct independent research
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
