Job Description : The Diet Tech works in conjunction with the Dietitian/Food Service Director to meet patients’ needs in producing quality nutritional services outcomes and care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. The Diet Tech is responsible for visits with each guest upon admission to complete a nutrition assessment. Explains diets, records food preferences and promotes quality food service.
Initiates and/or completes documentation for guests at nutritional risk (renal, weight changes, pressure ulcers, tube feeding, etc.)Fills out MDS, CAAs, and care plans on a timely basis.Ensures nutrition documentation complies with regulationsCompletes nutritional discharge summaries and provides diet instructions to guests and their familiesCompletes monthly QA reportsEducation, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
Must have successfully completed a Dietetic Technician Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the AcademyMust have a current certification from the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Must maintain an active certification in good standing throughout employment.Prior healthcare experience preferredSpecific Job Requirements
Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsMust be proficient with computer softwareMust be familiar with standards of practice used in the assessment of geriatric patientsMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentMust perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresJob Type: Full-time
Pay: From $40,000.00 per year
