Job Description : Full-Time, 1 FTE
Position Summary:
The Database Administrator will keep databases up and running throughout the company with a focus on maintaining end user accessibility. Assists with the enforcement of database architecture standards, storage plans, and ensure all databases are operating optimally and remain current.
Minimum Qualifications:
EPIC Certification within 12 months of hire
5 years’ related IT experience
Previous experience with reporting tools and report creation
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or Technology
Preferred: Previous experience automating processes with PowerShell
Preferred: Previous experience with EPIC database architecture and support
Preferred: Previous experience as a Database Administrator
Preferred: Microsoft SQL Server certification
Preferred: Previous experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
Essential Job Functions:
Obtains and maintains vendor required certifications as needed.
Maintains current and accurate knowledge of data storage and management best practices.
Ensures timely completion of batched processes.
Designs and implements secure, efficient, and accurate databases.
Ensures that databases are implemented in accordance with specifications and standards, with a focus on recoverability, performance and efficiency.
Completes database projects on time.
Maintains documentation and standards.
Gathers, organizes, and provides statistical data/reports from assigned databases
Works with application analysts to verify DB’s backup needs are identified and implemented
Works with staff, clinicians, consultants, and vendors in identifying system issues and conflict resolution.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment.
Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight.
Advanced math skills; ability to collect, analyze, interpret and/or present complex data.
Ability to work varied shifts.
Ability to work outside normal business hours for urgent / emergent issues.
