Job Description : #INDOOur client Oxford Milkway Transport Co-op is seeking an experienced General Manager with industry experience to join their team. Reporting to the CEO, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring that procedures are followed and carried out safely, efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the hands-on General Manager will find ways to contribute to the overall success by making sure daily operations run as smoothly and proficiently as possible.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the administration, fleet and maintenance staff as well as the overall human resources aspects, including recruitment of staff, employee development, orientation, training, performance evaluations, and employee relations.Reporting to the CEO on human resources related issues on an as needed basis.Develop, update and obtain approval from the CEO on changes to policies and/or procedures.Recommend Capital purchases – budgets, oversight; obtain approval from the CEO.Oversee accounting/financial activities and efforts to supervise cash management activities.Responsible for approval of invoices, payroll and producer payments.Develop budgets and business plans, to meet company revenue and profitability goals.Back-up to the CEO with the Board of Directors on an as needed basis for reporting purposes.Identify and respond to changes in the business environment while recommending and establishing plans to address issues and priorities, ensuring effective communication to the CEO.Maintain OMTA and DFO relations as well as respond to inquires.Develop and maintain effective relationships with Producers.Work with external advisors including; DFO, OMTA, and other advisors; maintaining positive relationships.Develop and monitor annual business plan in collaboration with management staff.Initiate and facilitate new projects annually in collaboration with the CEO.Act as key internal company representative, demonstrating excellent communication skills.Handle elevated customer service issues and incidents.Demonstrate leadership skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of impact and influence, negotiation and collaboration among cross-functional groups.Maintain a working knowledge of the industry, emerging technologies and overall strategic objectives.Develop proposals for new business opportunities.Ensures the company maintains high standards of social and environmental responsibility.Work with the CEO; provide input with the annual operating budgets.Provide leadership and direction including performance management and motivational support.Ensure that quality standards and business efficiencies are maintained.Promote and maintain a safe work environment, supporting the Health & Safety Committee.Additional duties as assigned.Qualifications: Business Management Diploma and/or 5 years previous experience (industry experience is a strong asset).Solid management experience.Advanced knowledge in reading and communicating maps, routes and producer location intricacies (yard & driveway specifications, objects, uniqueness).Knowledge of MTO Regulations, ESA, Federal Labour Act, DFO policies/procedures.Bulk Tank Milk Graders Certification.Confined Space Certification, First Aid Certified, Health & Safety Awareness (Supervisor).Lock Out/Tag Out Certification.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Highly driven, committed, organized and flexible.Self-motivated, results driven.Meticulous attention to detail.Strong analytical skills.Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.We appreciate all applicants that apply, only candidates selected will be contacted for an interview.Successful candidates will be required to complete a full background check, including two direct report references.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $125,000.00-$135,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental careEmployee assistance programExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingRRSP matchVision careSchedule:8 hour shiftCOVID-19 considerations:Remote interview processPersonal protective equipment provided or requiredSocial distancing guidelines in placeVirtual meetingsSanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in placeAbility to commute/relocate:Woodstock, ON N4V 1G6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)Education:DCS / DEC (preferred)Experience:Management: 5 years (preferred)Licence/Certification:Bulk Tank Milk Graders Certification?
