Position : HUMAN RESOURCES SUPPORT SPECIALIST (HUMAN RESOURCES ANALYST INTERMEDIATE)

Job Description : The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry is seeking a multi-skilled candidate to work under the general direction of the Human Resources Supervisor/Special Projects Coordinator. This position will be responsible for a number of diverse and technical processes; including administrative duties supporting the Human Resources & Development Group (HRDG).

Job Duties:

Creates and ensures Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) are produced accurately and in compliance with the Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA) Personnel Rules and ADCRR policy for all aspects of Human Resources within Human Resources Division & Development Group (HRDG)
Maintains, updates, and distributes the agency’s Human Resource (HR) Actions Signature Matrix ensuring regular updates occur
Works with the ADCRR WebMaster, to design and manage the HRDG Internal web page
Assists in the development of a structured approach to identifying and eliminating non-value-added process steps
Makes recommendations to integrate lean methods into the overall continuous improvement strategy within the HRDG
Creates the HRDG visual management boards, creates and maintains the metrics and other related information, variety of HR reporting tools ensure compliance with project due dates and deadlines
Completes, complies, and reviews HR forms and data
Interprets and explains technical materials such as Personnel Rules and administrative regulations
Review written materials for completeness and accuracy and ensures adherence to HR guidelines
Creates, designs, implements, and regularly updates a variety of required reports, forms, and other documents such as the agency’s HR Action Signature Matrix, ensuring produced material is kept current and accurate
Conduct various audits in the Classification & Compensation Unit
Drives on State business
Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

Federal and State laws, Arizona Department of Administration Personnel Rules, and ADCRR department policies and procedures
Theories, concepts, principles, and techniques of modern public and human resources administration and government
Graphic design and document formatting
Personal computers and use of various software (Microsoft Suite and Google Suite)

Skill in:

Effective written and verbal communication
Excellent verbal communication skills in presenting and defending recommendations
Analytical and problem solving
Organization and time management
Presentations and training techniques
Conflict management
Data analysis
Composing correspondence to include proper format, spelling, and language usage
Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships with all organizational levels

Comprehend and make inferences from material written
Exercise sound judgment and establish priorities of own workload

Selective Preference(s):

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or closely related field and two (2) years of experience as a Human Resources Analyst or equivalent experience
Preference experience working with Excel producing spreadsheets, graphs, pivot tables, and other related documents

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Requires possession of, and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12). Employment is contingent on the selected applicant passing a background investigation.

Retirement:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). Enrollment eligibility will become effective after 27 weeks of employment. Current ADCRR Employees: Consult with your respective Human Resources Liaison if you are in a different retirement plan than the one indicated above.
