What is this career opportunity?
Systems Analysts in the division work with business process owners to determine how information technology can best meet the needs of employees and customers. In this capacity, the incumbent will analyze requests for custom developed applications and drive the design and architecture to ensure it has the best possible functionality and presentation from both the business and IT perspective. The systems analyst will operate in a Scrum Agile project-driven environment in the role of SITSD Product Owner and be required to work independently with a variety of developers, managers, and stakeholders. We seek an individual with exceptional people skills who is particularly skilled at determining system requirements, building consensus among stakeholders with divergent needs and/or viewpoints. Success in this role is largely dependent on displaying strong ‘soft skills’ and business analysis expertise equally.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) or Management Information Systems (MIS). A Business degree will be considered if candidate can demonstrate experience working in an IT environment;
Four (4) years’ experience working on teams developing web-based systems preferred.
Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience gathering business requirements for web-based systems;
Experience with process flow diagraming;
Understanding of relational databases;
Experience with the process of developing custom software;
Experience prototyping and wireframing web-based systems;
Experience designing and maintaining websites;
Knowledge of Scrum Agile project management methodology;
Experience using Jira.
Competencies:
Knowledge of:
Principles of systems analysis;
IT systems.
Ability to:
Interpret business needs and translate them into IT solutions;
Communicate effectively with a wide variety of technical and business personnel;
Establish and maintain effective working relationships;
Manage multiple and at times competing priorities;
Facilitate meetings where stakeholders have divergent viewpoints;
Create solutions to unique issues;
Research upcoming technological trends.
