Job Description : Opportunity Summary: The Multi-Site Safety Manager is responsible for all activities related to occupational safety and health in the region (6-10 facilities) and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local requirements and laws to prevent hazards and injuries. The Multi-Site Safety Manager manages, develops, and supports safety programs to educate supervisors and managers and to prevent hazards, risks, and injuries. The Multi-Site Safety Manager reports to the Regional Vice President, with a dotted line to the Division Safety Manager.
How will you contribute to WestRock:

Manage Safety program across 6-10 regional facilities
Participate in region-level Safety Steering Team
Support development of a 100% Safe culture
Ensure that safety audits are completed in a timely manner
Maintain and update existing safety procedures, standard operating procedures, policies, and training program in coordination with Division Safety Manager
Provide critical information and documentation to 3rd party auditors as necessary
Work with corporate Environmental team to ensure compliance requirements.
Assist in the continuous improvement of hazard identification and risk assessment
Ensure compliance with safety policies, regulations, and reporting
Perform hazardous risk assessments for tasks or jobs to identify potential hazards and develop risk prevention plans to mitigate them
Review and analyze accident/injury reports and data for accuracy and detail, ensuring corrective actions are taken
Partner with worker’s compensation and general liability insurance representatives to ensure compliance with policy requirements
Lead continuous improvement projects, particularly around safety initiatives, in the facility/region
Model and promote an organizational culture that fosters safe practices through effective leadership and training
Partner with facility managers to review and improve safety practices and ensure adoption by employees
Maintain an open communication stream with site-level Management and Safety Coordinators at each facility within the region

What it takes to succeed:

Required: Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, including OSHA, ANSI, and NFPA
Preferred: Previous experience leading/managing/supporting a safety program
Preferred: Government or professional training and compliance courses (e.g. OSHA 30-hour training)
Required: High School diploma or G.E.D.

Work Environment:

Frequently works indoors in an environment that is not climate controlled and has both high and low temperatures
Occasionally works outdoors in natural environmental conditions (both hot and cold)
Noisy work environment; maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations
Local or regional travel estimated at approximately 50% of time

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
