Position : Program Coordinator
Job Description : Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator will be the main ” I Can Breathe” program lead. They will also be assigned to the program coordination of several other initiatives, as needed.We are looking for someone who is reliable and fit to be in a start-up environment where they will have to work independently while diligently meeting project targets and wearing many hats.The ideal candidate would be a young professional with strong work ethic who is passionate about community organizing, social and environmental justice. The Program Coordinator will assume growing responsibilities at BE Initiative including:– Managing programs and activities as instructed by the Executive Director– Building and maintaining BE Initiative’s connections in communities and in the environmental and social sector– Managing social media activities in collaboration with the team of volunteers– Planning and organizing events– Handling day to day communications and completing all administrative tasks– Representing BE Initiative in meetings, training sessions, conferences and in public engagementWe are looking for a highly intelligent, resourceful, reliable young professional with great communication and project management skills.Assets- Having a track record of volunteering in Black- focused organizations could help a candidate stand out.- Evidence of commitment to anti-Black racism could make you a better fit for this role.- Evidence of entrepreneurial ventures is a great assetWe are also committed to offering opportunities to Young Black, BIPOC, or low-income professionals, especially gender diverse people.
