POSITION OVERVIEW:
To ensure Deco and Customer quality requirements are met by identifying and providing input to resolve quality related problems
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Grade 12 education or equivalent education and work related experience
Working knowledge of SPC charting and interpreting
Basic knowledge of blue print reading
Check fixture concepts
Two to three years experience in a manufacturing environment
Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position
Must be proficient in the use of micrometers, Caliper, dial indicators, height gauge and use of checking fixtures
Must successfully comply with recognized corrected levels of vision as per customer requirements
Required to work overtime to meet customer requirements
Have effective communication and interpersonal skills
Good organizational and planning skills
Demonstrates interpersonal skills and job initiative
Demonstrates ability to work effectively within a team environment
Must be proficient in the use of Computers, printers, telephone, photocopier, fax machine and digital camera
RESPONSIBILITIES / EFFORTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:
The QA Technician will perform all duties and promote themselves in a manner that reflects Deco’s Visions and Values and Magna’s Employee’s Charter
Establish, maintain and implement quality parameters to support production and quality assurance
Conducts inspections and analyzes data
Notify appropriate people of non-conformance situations, and assist in containment measures
Maintain a sound understanding of customer’s product and engineering specifications
Take initiative to get things done and demonstrates a sense of urgency in achieving results
Establish and maintain effective communications with all support groups.
Promote health and safety, high product quality and continuous improvement
Attend and participate in area meetings
Support training of production personnel in Quality and Inspection procedures
Generate and issue quality alerts
Initiate RDR’s
Enforce all tagging procedures and quality and inspection procedures
Assist in R & R studies and capability studies as required
Ensure Quarantine Area is maintained on a per shift basis
Work within the guidelines of the Deco Employee Handbook and safety rules
Keep work area in a clean and orderly condition
Commitment to continuous improvement and workplace safety
IATF awareness and adherence
Other duties as may be required
Accepts personal responsibility to plan and conduct their work safety in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as company policies and guidelines
