Your Role:
Pilot Plant Technician in Tempe, AZ. The Pilot Plant Technician is a cross-functional role accountable for supporting the sample preparation of Formulated Products for the R&D/Technology Group and for customer testing.
Accurately, Efficiently and Safely Scale Samples for Customer Testing.
Working with Chemists and Engineers to define Process Conditions during blending of Formulations
Support development of Manufacturing Procedures for reproducible formulation samples
Support Hazard Reviews and other tools to transition Products from Pilot to SVM capabilities.
Perform Analytical Testing in support of Formulated Products at Pilot Level
Running experiments on Laboratory systems (Easy-max and iPDU). Be able to generate and communicate results with Project leadership to support manufacturing procedures and conditions
Calibration, measurement, and tool ownership of in-line and off-line conductivity, pH, temperature probes, particle counters and data loggers during Pilot Production for data analysis.
Help with product development activities such as improving filtration processes aimed at reducing large particles
Performing shelf-life studies to determine product stability
Raw material purification
Mixing studies to test blending process sensitivities to support high volume manufacturing
Support chemical inventory as well as Pilot Maintenance Program.
Support raw material preparation for use in pilot plant/R&D labs
Deionization of raw materials
Actively participate in the sites Basic Safety Practice (BSP).
Maintain a Safe work environment and good general housekeeping.
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of experience in maintenance or as an equipment technician
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering related discipline
Previous industry experience as a Pilot Technician
Previous experience with analytical tools and techniques (pH, conductivity, specific gravity, particle counters, etc.)
Experience setting up/use of data loggers running 0-10V/4-20mA signals
Candidate should be proficient in typical computer software applications (MS Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook, etc.)
Reliable, dynamic, self-motivated individual, with an ability and desire to work in a fast-paced chemical and semiconductor R&D environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse team environment.
