Job Description : Purpose:
The Receptionist role provides a high level of professional, congenial, and knowledgeable front-line reception services in the Office of the Dean at the Lassonde School of Engineering. As required, the role will also provide administrative and clerical support. The Receptionist role will support the vision, purpose, values and strategic direction of the Lassonde School of Engineering and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement, embracing diversity and fostering inclusion.

Education:
High school diploma.

Experience:
One (1) year recent experience in an executive office environment, providing excellent customer service, administrative and reception duties. Experience in an academic environment preferred.

Skills:
Ability to handle a busy reception desk in a positive customer-centric and professional manner. Ability to work courteously and effectively with people, obtaining and providing information in a clear and concise manner. Excellent organizational skills, including ability to work effectively under pressure of high volume. Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Excellent communications skills (oral and written). Effectiveness in attending to details. Tact and diplomacy are essential and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work as an effective member of a team. Advanced MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
