Job Description : Payroll Specialist Job Description:
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist that will lead the payroll function to ensure smooth operation of all payroll matters. Reporting directly to the President, the candidate will be involved in a wide range of duties. The Payroll Specialist will ensure the collection of all necessary information and documents, compute wages, and investigate and resolve any payroll issues or discrepancies. Should be able to efficiently coordinate payroll tasks and strictly follow company policies and legal regulations, and possess strong people skills. We are open to hiring fully remote but ideally looking for a candidate in the Phoenix, AZ or Tucson, AZ markets.
Duties

Manage payroll operations and lead the processing and accurate completion of the payroll processes for all employees
Maintain payroll / audit reports in accordance with ALL state and federal requirements
Initiate and support process improvement and efficiencies across payroll to streamline processes
Collect and verify employee and timekeeping data
Compute wages, deductions, commissions, benefits, etc. to ensure accuracy
Issuing and distributing paychecks
Updating payroll information for promotions, transfers, terminations, and new hires
Recording and maintaining employee records and payroll transactions
Preparing statements reflecting earnings, taxes, and deductions
Answering questions and resolving issues regarding payroll
Ensuring compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws
Manage compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
Establish, maintain and enforce proper payroll policies and procedures
Process accurate and timely year – end reporting
Prepare payroll reports for management and auditing purposes

Desired Skills/Experience

Minimum 10+ years of experience in payroll preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field is preferred
Proven work experience with supervisory experience
Excellent business orientation, with a good understanding of the key drivers, issues and constraints of the business
Results oriented: able to collaborate with different individuals across the organization, and “roll-up the sleeves” in order to accomplish all necessary tasks.
Experience with payroll systems; along with advanced Excel skills
Ability to work with large amounts of data
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

Pay: $40,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
