Technology
Unilever Operations (UniOps) is one of our largest entities in Unilever, like supply chain, with a cost base well over a billion Euros. It is responsible for the execution of key operations like recruitment, IT, payroll, purchase to pay, but also centre of excellence in driving new capabilities such as information and analytics or support for digital marketing & ECommerce.
Global Experience Teams are responsible for design, proposal on how/where to deploy and continuous improvement of edge to edge journeys focussed around the customer, employee, consumer, shareholder etc. This includes ownership of the process, technology, experience data strategy and partnership blueprints, driving continuous improvement & supporting the changing needs of the ‘Power’ and ‘Grow’ platforms in the organisation (funnelled through the UniOps in Market Teams) in line with industry leading capabilities/skills.
Main job purpose
The main purpose of this role is to act as the lead business partner to the Experience service lines, representing finance in Experience Service Line Leadership Teams and acting as finance business partner to the relevant VPs.
Specifically, in the area of alignment, the next step in the evolution of finance business partnering in Experience is to ensure that the voices of the clusters, functions and categories are taken more into account in long-term investments, and that there is a shared understanding about future costs and benefits from investments, before significant funds are committed.
As a learning experience, this job gives a unique insight into the world of Experiences, whether Employee, Commercial and Consumer, and the way they support the business.
Key contacts fall into two categories: firstly, those within the service line, who are based largely in the key hubs of Kingston and Bangalore, and secondly the wider business which uses and ultimately pays for the services.
Key accountabilities:
Lead role as strategic Finance BP for Experience Service Line transformations and new scope:
High value business case preparation, Scenario modelling & evaluation
Rigorous and challenging scrutiny over costs and benefits, and interventions on project performance
Supporting communication and change management of major initiatives through clusters & functions
Financial lead on major contract negotiations development with 3rd parties
Lead financial business case development, Cost modelling, including treasury and tax considerations
Finance lead in procurement process & supporting negotiation inputs
Provision of data analytics with Contract Managers (& link to FET team)
Working hand in hand with SSP
Finance Lead for Service Line Performance management
Drive the annual planning process for the Service Line
Own the Service Line Forecasting process (& link to FET and Controllers teams)
Partner to deliver the Service Line budget
Partner to drive tech transformations and continuous savings initiatives
Single point of contact for SL Owner
Experience and qualifications required:
FMCG / CPG Experience
Decision support / business case modelling in a complex environment
Working in a matrix reporting environment
Excellent inter-personal, communication and influencing skills
Experience of working in multi-national teams and/or a virtual team environment
Business partnering skills from global or regional category, customer, MCO, supply chain environment
The role also requires strong supplier facing skills and may have interaction with external service providers
Key Technical Skills:
Commercial acumen
Resilience (ability to cope with time pressure and challenges)
High degree of flexibility and ability to quickly understand new topics
Ability to work collaboratively with other key stakeholders
Strong engagement, presentation and communication skills
Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner
