Job Description : Position: Mobile Software Development Lead (Android Developer)Experience: 3-5 yearsLocation: Bangalore (Remote based)*Immediate Joiners only*We are looking for a Mobile Software Development Lead. This position will primarily be responsible for development and maintenance of our customer-side application, aimed to cater to the vast number of diverse Android device users and iOS users.Additionally, this person will oversee & manage the team responsible for the development and maintenance of all our customer-side mobile platforms (Android, PWA & iOS applications) and thus, basic understanding of mWeb/PWA & iOS would be required to take up this role.RESPONSIBILITIES & OWNERSHIP: THINGS THE ROLE WOULD UNDERTAKEDesign and build advanced applications for the company on the Android platform.Implement new functionalities based on the specifications provided.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and ship ne features.Demonstrate systematic and creative design thinking as well as a deep understanding of UI/UX best practices.Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable code in Java / Kotlin.Work with outside data sources and APIs.Continuously discover, evaluate, research, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.Involve in all aspects of service, playing a critical role in designing, planning, development, and deployment.Develop robust, quick prototypes for proof-of concept features / application based on briefs.Build Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.Lead the global planning, development & release cycles for all customer facing Mobile platforms – Android application, iOS application, P.W.A (Mobile Web). For iOS & PWA, this person will oversee and manage the Development & Release efforts, so thus, a basic understanding of these two platforms will be required to execute this responsibility.Actively mentor peers and other software engineers.SKILLS REQUIRED:Proven Industry experience in Android Application and SDK development preferably in a B2C Tech Business, with at least one original Android application published for Consumer download on the Play Store.Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks architectures, trends, and emerging technologies – Solid understanding of the full mobile software development lifecycle.Knowledge of Java/ Kotlin, React Native, OOPs Concepts, RxJava, Coroutines, Offline Storage, Threading, Performance Tuning, Android APIs, Android SDK, NDK and design patterns (across different versions of Android and screen sizes).Hands-on experience in working with Dagger could be a plus.Knowledge of REST APIs & JSON structures to connect Android applications to back-end services and transform server-side information into useful UI/UX.Strong fundamentals on Data Structures & Algorithms.Good knowledge of custom / complex layouts, views, and notifications. Multi-threading with Android Lifecycle Support.Familiarity with JetPack Libraries – Android Architecture component, Navigation component, MVVM could be a handful.Strong understanding of Android application architecture, Activities, Services, Intents, Content, Notifications (Push Notifications, In-App Notifications).Basics of Sqlite, Android testing frameworks.Strong understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines.Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git and familiarity with Agile Development methodologies and CI/CD.A knack for benchmarking and optimization.Basics of iOS Application Development as well as Web fundamentals – UI [JavaScript, nodeJS, frameworks like AngularJS] since this role would involve leading the entire Mobile Development unit – Android, iOS, PWA.WHO COULD BE A GREAT FIT:Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science.4+ years of experience working in Android.Strong logical skill.Ability to hustle between different roles.Desire to manage and run global mobile application development for an organization.Job Type: Full-timeSchedule:Monday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Bangalore, Karnataka: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Education:Bachelor’s (Preferred)Experience:Android Development: 3 years (Required)Flutter: 3 years (Required)MVVM Architecture: 2 years (Required)
