Job Description : Title: Aquaculture Lab Technician
Pay Range: Commensurate with applicable experience, education and skill
General Summary: Assist scientists with quality control of Brine Shrimp (Artemia) cysts.
Company Description: Established Hatchery Feed Company with loyal customer base and a bright future. Based in Ogden, Utah, USA. Produce, manufacture and supply quality feeds for fish and shrimp hatcheries around the world.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Including, but not limited to: 1) Prepare, set up and clean equipment required for hatching, quality control and analysis of Artemia cysts. 2) Assist scientists in quality control and analysis of Artemia cysts; 3) Perform quality control and analysis of Artemia cysts following standard operating protocols; 4) Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports; 5) Maintain effective communication with managers and colleagues regarding laboratory activities; 6) Perform other quality control and laboratory duties as directed.
Requirements: Including, but not limited to: 1) Minimum of an Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Aquaculture, Nutrition, Engineering, or equivalent experience; 2) Preferably a minimum of three years’ experience in laboratory-related work; 3) Strong verbal and written communication skills in English (speaking, writing, listening, understanding); 4) Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information and data.; 5) Self-starter; responsible; strong work ethic; ability to work independently with limited supervision; ability to work collaboratively;
Working Conditions: Full-Time position during regular hours at Company headquarters. Both indoor and outdoor work environments. Positive, collaborative work environment with supportive Management Team and colleagues.
Physical Demands: Requires standing, sitting, walking, use of hands to finger, reaching with hands and arms, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour
