House of Hope, established in 1946 to treat substance use disorders, is seeking a full-time Development Specialist in Salt Lake City to work on an innovative development team to help accomplish the mission of our non-profit organization.

The successful House of Hope Applicant will:

Be an excellent writer; they will assist in writing grants, proposals, newsletters, e-newsletters, and standard House of Hope letters. • Be detail oriented, tracking grants, collating reports, and managing data. • Support grant project management for capital improvement funding, including procurement. • Organize events for staff, donors, volunteers, and House of Hope’s women in treatment. • Assist with House of Hope marketing and social media (managing website and social media; create and design organization materials). • Be able to professionally conduct themselves in public settings, including community outreach, public relations, and public speaking. • Represent House of Hope at community and industry events and conferences, when needed. • Support volunteer projects for House of Hope. • Gather information, create/write press releases, client stories, annual reports, etc.
Directly assist the Director of Development on other development projects, as needed and assigned

Can work in stressful situations, problem solve, and stay calm during crises. • Desires to gain experience in writing, grant writing – including government grants, marketing, public relations with some public speaking. • Enjoys planning events, attending community activities, meeting new people. • Has a talent for organization and order. • Is efficient and a creative task manager. • Is interested in learning more about non-profit organizations, treatment programs, and women’s issues. • Can organize data, understand computer basics. • Has a strong attention to detail and good time management. • Is an excellent communicator in person, on the phone, and in writing. • Is proficient at spelling and grammar. • Most importantly, has a passion for working on a collaborative team to help women and children in need. • Has a Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred, will accept field experience in lieu of degree (one year for one year).

Wage: $17 to $22 per hour; staff over 30 hours per week offered health insurance, life, and disability insurance. All full-time and part-time staff are eligible for dental and vision insurance, as well as 401(k) dollar for dollar match up to 5% after one year with vesting schedule, employee recognition and other incentives are available.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
