Reports to: District ManagementPosition OverviewThe general manager position is responsible for managing a high-performing, high-volume store. This position concentrated on sales growth and profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, recruitment, training and development and operations. The general manager position requires strong delegation, leadership and operational skills to effectively manage high volume performance. The position also requires previous experience managing a high-volume store or equivalent.Customer Experience

Ensures high level of customer service by acting as a coach, role model and sales leader.
Focuses staff on customer satisfaction by evaluation and responding to each customer’s individual needs.
Trains all associates to fulfill and exceed customer expectations.
Greets and engages all customers upon arrival.
Development and maintain customer relationships through the use of the Client Book.
Follow up on all customer requests
Handle returns efficiently with the goal of customer satisfaction in mind.
Maintains visibility on the selling floor to answer customer questions and support all selling function.

Operations

Execute company visual directives within given time frame.
Drives visual presentation and maintenance standards through effective staff training.
Communicates merchandise issues, quality issues and business drivers to the district management.
Responsible for all staff scheduling including time off requests, vacation approvals and daily breaks.
Schedules staff to ensure maximum store profitability in all areas.
Ensures scheduled staff meetings are conducted on a regular basis.
Uses effective controls to reduce shortage and mandates compliance by all associates to target shortage programs.
Keeps district management informed of store issues, concerns and needs.
Fill open positions as needed.
Aggressively and consistently recruits candidates to meet store management, selling and non-selling, needs,
Creates a strong results and action oriented team that works together, exhibits strong presence and leads by example.
Creates an environment in which assistant managers can grow and develop individual strengths.
Reinforce position and negative performance. Counsels, coaches and energizes entire store team.
Develops and promotes talent from company.
Evaluates associates performance quarterly and promotes open lines of communication through coaching and motivation. Responsible for conducting constructive feedback with regards to sub-standard performance.
Oversees and disseminates any training needs or issues that corporate mandates.
Communicates and coaches effectively to all levels across all departments.
Develops partnership that enable business success.
Adapts to change required by the business

Satisfactorily completes all duties as assigned by management
Is punctual and adheres to designated work schedule
Is flexible and works well with peers and management to accomplish duties
Demonstrates a sense of urgency to maintain visual standards within their assigned zone

Miscellaneous Responsibilities

Participates in and attends all store meetings and other related functions
Represents a positive attitude toward the merchandise and the company
Participates in all inventories
Assumes and completes other duties as assigned by store management
Some heavy lifting in excess of 30 pounds
Scheduled shifts may require standing for a minimum of eight hours
