Job Description : Duties

Assists with strategic and long-range plans, evaluates hardware/software products and serves as a technical expert in support of OCIO on premise and cloud solutions.
Performs installation, maintenance and troubleshooting to support, identify root causes of issues, and implement resolutions to for complex hardware, software, network, and applications problems where the potential customer impact is high.
Manages IT system availability, reliability and capacity based on performance analysis, considering software, hardware, and network capabilities to include requirements of DevOps analysis and design.
Assists with annual budget preparation, clarifies line items and effective cost, timelines, and resources required.
Assists with planning of work to be accomplished by federal and contract employees, recommends adjustments to priorities, timelines and schedules as needed to meet stakeholder requirements and mission objectives.
Provides accurate, satisfactory response to customer or stakeholder queries and concerns and escalate as necessary.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement for the Information Technology Specialist, GS-2210 occupation: You must have Information Technology (IT) related experience demonstrating each of the following competencies:
1) Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail;
2) Customer Service – Works with clients and customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services;
3) Oral Communication – Expresses information to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately; and
4) Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations .Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Additional Requirements:

For the GS 13: Applicants must have one full year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level (or equivalent) that includes all of the following:

Serving as IT Specialist (Systems Administrator), driving the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, using agile processes and methodologies.
Participating in capacity planning and analysis for a variety of IT systems (including hardware, software, and operating systems management).
Providing support for IT procurement activities, efficiently and effectively delivers IT products and services.
Responsible for the systems administration of state-of-the-art customer-focused and enterprise-wide datacenter and cloud-based IT solutions.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
